Mediation Herefordshire is a Registered Charity, a not-for-profit organisation, independent of the Courts and solicitors. If you are not eligible for Public Funding, we have to make a charge to enable us to continue to provide our Service.
From the 1st June 2011, our fees will be as follows:
Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting:
You attend this meeting alone and the mediator will give you information about mediation and assess to see if you are eligible for Public Funding. If you are eligible, there is no charge for this meeting. However, if you are not eligible you will normally be charged £60 plus VAT for the meeting and Form FM1 (which you will need if you wish to start Court proceedings).
There are some circumstances where you will not have to pay for this meeting even if you are not eligible for Public Funding, if this is the case we will refund payment.
Publicly Funded Mediation:
If you are in receipt of benefits or on low income and your capital is less than £8,000, you will not be charged for mediation. If you would like to see whether you could be eligible please go here and use the LSC Calculator.
